Traditional Japanese Samurai Sword Tsuba
A tsuba is a handguard that is mounted on a Japanese sword, particularly samurai swords, for practical reasons. It is the main part of the sword that serves not only for protection but also for decoration.
The tsuba is located between the blade and the hilt of the sword and is designed to protect the user's hand when they grip the sword. The primary function of the tsuba is to prevent the opponent's blade from slipping on the sword and cutting the user's hand.
Tsuba comes in different shapes and designs, and some are made of precious metals and decorated with intricate designs. The tsuba is an essential component of the Japanese sword, and its design and quality can indicate the value and authenticity of the sword.
