Shishimai is one of the traditional events held at New Year in various places in Japan. Each event differs in each area of Japan.

"Shishimai" (Japanese lion dance) (獅子舞) is one a traditional Japanese performing arts in which performers mimic a lion's movements in a lion costume to festival music. Participants wear the Shishimai lion's head made of wood or paper. 

It is said that if Shishimai bites your head, it will bring you happiness, eliminate evil diseases and expel demons.

Please note that all the masks listed are old and have been used by Japanese people. This gives the items various weathering and imperfections. They are not perfect. You can see the quality of the items in the photos.
